Flying in Iquique

grafik_inca grafik_inca Largest flight area of Chile in the north. Long flights at the beach and over the city, cross flights of over 100 km are possible. Flying all year round, partly thermal, partly dynamical with the seewind. Launching becomes usually too windy during midday, which is why most pilots are on their way in the morning and in the late afternoon. Phillip stated the simple rule: If the wind is not too strong for starting, it is not too strong for flying es well.

Launch at Alto Hospicio, already sign-posted as a paragliding spot. Bus every 10 min. Landing at the beach or top or at the new flight center, that the Swiss Phillip Maltry is building here. South of the city there is a number of further launching spots.
