Celebration Señor de los Milagros, Andahuaylas
The Señor de los Milagros, a miraculous Jesus icon,
revered in Andahuaylas, the second largest city of the
Departamiento
Apurímac.
All streets in town are decorated by colorful large pictures made of petals, colored Eukalyptus chips and lime.
Later on the procession walks over these artworks. The heavy Jesus icon, carried by twelve heavily sweating men is placed upon the painting
which passes the blessing of the icon on to the waiting artists.
Streets smell like a promised rosengarden...
